A (much older) friend of mine always said that when you hit 40 you start to groan when you get up off the sofa. At 42 I have a right knee injury - which has caused my left knee to take the strain and it actually hurts more than the injured knee, and my shoulder/neck/back has started to go into spasm as my body adjusts itself. I feel about 90 and my DH has started calling me "Little Old Lady". What is happening to your body/mind/life that reminds you that you aren't 21 any more?

I can't each tv and Mumsnet on the phone at the same time - my eyes with contacts in take time to refocus - so basically I can't see

I find myself being strangely attracted to items such as flight socks and seaweed supplements in shops.

You can no longer put your tights on standing up.
High heels are for special occasions when you don't have to walk anywhere.
You go belting upstairs for something then can't remember what it was.

Oh Helza, I can barely put tights on sitting down... and yes, I have heels that are for evenings out by car only...!

You crouch down to pick something up, and you think to yourself "What else can I do while I'm down here?"

Oh, that's pregnancy.

Both, actually!

Another was last year. I was on the tube and lovely people kept offering to give up their seats for me. I'm not even sixty yet. Vowed to buy double strength moisturiser!
