How can I lose half a stone?

That's all I want to lose, to bring me back to my comfortable weight.

Never had to diet before, but am approaching 30 and I can't eat what I want anymore so am a total novice to the dieting game.

Thanks

Oh, that sounds tricky!

I was hoping to just cut out eating in betwen meals and go 3 x 30 minute runs per week.

Currently I do eat alot of biscuits/chocolate etc every day.

The best way I ever found was to almost completely cut out carbs - especially at the end of the day.
It's hard but pretty fast. So breakfast would be a worthy sort of cereal with skimmed milk. Lunch would be ryvita type crackers with avocado or mackerel, evening meal a big salad with chicken or fish. As much fruit and herbal tea as you like during the day - although not more than one banana.
For treats the odd bit of chocolate or a beer/glass of wine.
You do get desperate for carbohydrate - and then you have some - and go straight back on the regime.
Doesn't suit everyone but did work.

"Currently I do eat alot of biscuits/chocolate etc every day"

That might be the problem

I cut out all choccie, biccies and crisps and have lost over a stone.

You dont even miss them after a while

Although have been eating loads of choccie this week - PMT, so will be extra good (yeah right!) over the next few weeks

I sound like a real bloater don't I? I'm not I promise.

I weigh 9 stone 2 and have NEVER weighed over 9 stone in my life (except when preg) and want to get to 8.5 stone.

Will try these tips and see what happens. Thanks guys.

9st 2lb???

You have totally just lost all my sympathy

MarvellouslyMilitantPeachy · 09/08/2006 19:45

Actually you would be amazed how much you can lose if you just cut out butter and walk round the block a few times extra each day.

Camping always works for me too- all that fresh air and no fridge!

I'm only 5'4'' though, and it's slightly too heavy for me.

OK, more running, no carbs after 5pm and no chocolate.
