just saying hello, although I can't help at all I'm afraid if anything my ds was a bit late developing

mixedemotions123 · 10/08/2006 16:44

my ds is 7. He has recently started to grow hair down below. He is blonde so it is not really obvious to anyone else, but he is being referred to a paediatrician to check for precocious puberty. I hadn;t even heard of it until i checked it on the web. Scared myself half to death. I believe it is quite uncommon in boys.

It's always a bit of a double edged thing googling for info...I hope someone is around who can share their experience

I've no idea how common it is, are there any self help groups you've found?

Have you been in touch with
this group ?

I did a bit of research on Precocious Puberty ( for an article that hasn't happened yet) - it is rare and more so for boys. Please go and see the GP and call the CGF, they are very helpful.

thanks for the link unicorn. I have just printed off a 19 page booklet which looks helpful. We saw the gp last week and he said that he is going to refer him, hopefully quite soon!!!!!!!

it may be worth calling the cgf if you need advice/reassurance etc.
best of luck
