Nipple skin tag

Hi

Just a little advise please.

I've got a doctor's appointment booked, but not until the 6th March - the earliest non-emergency - and I don't think this qualifies as an emergency - although my DH does.

I have what I think is a skin tag on my nipple, I've had it about a year, with no issues whatsoever, but for the last eight days it has been swelling and keeps bleeding, enough to stick to my bra - I've put some sudocream in it, and a little gauze, but it is still not healing. It's not gushing in any way, but it is quite painful if anything leans against my breast, and I am "noticing" my breast. I'm not unduly worried tbh, but do you think I should get an earlier appointment ?

Hmmm. It's hard to say. How sure are you that it's a skin tag? Do you mean it's actually on your nipple, or on the areola?

I have a lot of skin tags, but have never had one on a nipple or areola. Mine mostly grow in creases, crevices and hairy places - neck, arm-pits, under my breast folds... They do occasionally swell and bleed, especially if they have been rubbed or scratched, and sometimes they then dry up and drop off.

If you're not sure whether you should have a more urgent appointment, you could phone up your surgery, briefly describe the issue, and ask... I think that's what I'd do. :)

It's on the areola.

I'm pretty sure it's a skin tag but am second guessing myself now.

I'll do what you suggest and phone up tomorrow for some advice.

Thanks Flow4
