Can I drink wine whilst on Clarithromycin antibiotic?

I'm just wondering I have googled but not getting any answers that make sense. I would like a glass or two of wine am I allowed?

i thought you were meant to avoid all alcohol with any antibiotic

Theres no specific advice that alcohol has to be avoided, but it can impair the way it works but a couple of glasses should be ok.!!HTH

Agree with Layla, its not reccomeneded but al it will do is affect the effecy a bit. If you are feeling better enough to fancy a glass of vion, I suspect a bit less effacy for tonight wont bother you!

Thanks I have had one small glass of wine but am feeling a bit rough still so am not having anymore.
