And its NOT worms - i thought of that and have treated it, but still there (unless the pills don't always work??). Seems to be the old episiotomy scar - sometimes gets a bit itchy, then its really tender when you scratch so becomes a vicious circle. (ds now 2.7 so not exactly a new scar!! Has always been a bit funny, the scar - odd texture etc, and the perineal skin very papery since the birth (forceps).OMG, am I really discussing this online???!!! Hell, thats motherhood.

Have you tried calendula cream on it? It's very good for sore/rough/itchy skin and for healing eg paper cuts.

Some piles make you really itchy. Try witch hazel, or haemmoroid cream. Soaking in warm water for 15min a day (if you have the time) can help.

Tushies wipes are good too. I used them instead of toilet paper after dd was born.

prettycandles · 10/03/2004 14:34

(Whoops, didn't mean to post then.) But avoid any perfumed wipes. If you want to wash your bum after the loo, try using a small bottle of water with a sports cap.

Janstar · 10/03/2004 14:35

Wash throughly every time you go to the loo. This is very easy and quick if you have a bidet, but worth doing even if you don't.

can I suggest a peek at this wonderful embarrassing problems webpage? all types of unmentionables dealt with in a no-nonsense manner

Anusol. Ointment (purple tube) works better than the cream in the green tube. Wouldn't use the steroid one.

Piles. I bet.
