Hello

I have been referred to see one and I'm wondering if anyone can share experiences? I have infertility, early menopause and possibly underactive thyroid, I'm wondering what tests they might do and what they are expecting to uncover?

Thanks

Hi op I'm attending endocrinologist at the moment. I'm 47 and have been experiencing night sweats and groin sweats. GP referred me to endocrinologist to check my hormone levels and possible explanations for the sweats. So he is testing me for diabetes and carrying out a barrage of tests ie liver function kidney function thyroid and hormones. On my first consultation I was weighed, height measured, urine and blood sample taken. I have to go back in six weeks but in meantime I have do a 24 hour urine test. I have to collect my urine in special container over 24 hour period for three days in a row and leave each morning at my surgery. They have a list of tests they want to carry out on each individual sample bottle. I will get results when I next see consultant :) hope this helps.
