I had one removed from my back as a minor op by gp ...it took about 25 minutes as it was very deep and it stank to high heaven

can't see how you could do it yourself, mind you mine was a few years old

If you try draining it, it may reform. these cysts usually resolve themselves either by bursting spontaneously or dying away gradually. If none occurs, your GP would remove it surgically[ouch]

mine has in fact come back to some extent!
