I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on a problem I am having. I have got a doctors appointment for a fortnights time, but in the meantime, any ideas?
I have always been slightly prone to blushing, although not a chronic blusher. I work in a sector where I deliver training and speak in public a lot, and it has never caused me much of an issue. Just occasionally, usually around the time my period is due, I get hot flashes and am more prone to suddenly going red when in social situations but it has never caused me much bother, as it doesnt happen often.
However, for the past few weeks, I am flushing badly several times a day and it seems to be getting worse and worse. I suddenly feel hot and can feel my cheeks burning and then a flush appears on my chest which is bright red and stings. I wondered if it could be rosacea, but not sure? It does seem to happen when I am speaking in public particularly, but it comes on so suddenly and the chest flush actually hurts, so it doesnt feel like embarrassment blushing, iyswim - more a physical reaction. It is really starting to get me down.
I am 36, periods are normal and have had some gynae investigations for something else a few months ago and all was normal - so dont think its a pre-menopause thing. I dont drink much alcohol, have cut my caffeine intake down to about 2-3 cups a day since January and also given up smoking (am on the e-cigs though couldnt be that, could it??).
Any ideas gratefully received, as it is driving me mad!
