no I wouldn't say it was normal - have you got the blurb that comes with the pill? check what it says in the side effects bit. Which pill is it?

jackieglyn · 01/08/2006 15:13

im not sure what pill it is im at work at the moment and its at home, i will have a read of the small print when i get home i think to make sure.

i get headaches on the mycrogynen (green and white box) but usually only the last week before AF is due.

eenywifemum · 01/08/2006 15:16

I have migraines and am not allowed to take any estrogen based birth control because it can aggravate migraines and (dont want to scare you) cause strokes in migraine sufferers. But this is with people who get REALLY bad, serious migraines and I imagine you would know if that was you!! If you have the sort of migraines that makes you want to basically die then get off the pill. If you DON'T - then call your Dr and ask about other possible side affects. Good luck!

jackieglyn · 01/08/2006 15:20

mine are in a white and green box so it must be Mycrogynen.

i do get headaches at times, nothing really a paracetamol wouldnt get rid of. but this one seems to be an evil one. so you think i should leave it till tomorrow and see how i am then?

if you had the sort of migraines that can cause a problem on the pill you would know and probably be under treatment of a neurologist - but if you are concerned I would just call your GP because every type of medication can have side effects and you may as well look in to it.

foxinsocks · 01/08/2006 15:24

I would prob leave it a bit longer and see what happens - read the blurb in the pill packet when you get home

call your GP though if you get worried

i get really bad headaches and migraines, and was told not to have a certain type of pill altho i'd already been taking that type of pill for a couple of years already, but hadn't been asked about headaches before .. but also, since i had an ovarian cyst, so was told to stop.
i still get headaches and migraines, but i've had them since i was a little girl.
Best to tell your GP if you feel concerned.

Don't mean to scare anyone, but the thing that made me ask my GP was because my sister was working/living abroad and flat sharing with 3 other girls. One day she woke up went to the bathroom and found one flatmate dead on the floor due to a bloot clot in her head most likely caused from the pill she was on!!!

jackieglyn · 01/08/2006 16:16

thats horrible. i have just made an appointment to see doctor tonight.

I'm on the second week of my new pill (cilest) and luckily all the sympytoms I had at the beginning seem to have passed. I felt really sick and dizzy for days. Taking it before I go to bed seems to have helped. And, for anyone who suffers with terrible skin, it really has worked wonders. Baby soft peachy skin instead of the spot ridden mess I was just a week ago. A miracle

PrettyCandles · 01/08/2006 17:07

Is this the combination pill or the mini-pill? When I started taking the mini-pill I got dreadful headaches that nothing seemed to shift, they got worse and worse until almost continuous by about day 7, then started fading again and were gone by about day 10. Certainly felt back to normal (headache-wise) by day 14.
