at least, that's what it feels like. Seems to be happening more lately than in the last year, and more in the last year than in the previous years of my life.

What could it mean, Should I see a doctor?

Dunno if you should see a doctor or not. Do you drink alot of coffee/tea/caffeine? I'm told eliminating/reducing can make a difference.

I had somthing like this with the returning beat sounding louder. The Dr said that the louder beat was actually a double beat and it was the result of too much caffine in my then tea and chocolate diet. Ok it wasn't that bad but I've cut back and the beat doesn't trouble me any more.

Mine does it all the time (about once a week) more when I'm stressed, perfectly normal, don't worry about it unless you have other symptoms. I don't have panic attackes either, I think the beat skipping thing is a very very small sign of anxiety, stress, caffeine. Don't worry about it.
