My mum is 65 and is generally fit and healthy and is very slim. 3 weeks ago she developed a mild cold but it rapidly turned into a tickiky cough. After 5 days her temperature had crept up and she was feeling achy and had pain in her chest from coughing. I persuaded her to visit oh GP who said she needed antibiotics ( amoxocillin). After 3 days the fever and chest pain had gone but still has a dry cough. She finished the antibiotics nearly a week ago but still feels washed out and is still coughing. Her temperature is normal and breathing ok. Not had chest infection before so not sure how long it should take to feel better. She has no appetite still and has no energy to go out. Should she go back to GP?
