Gums suddenly started bleeding

Saw the dentist seven days ago (check up and clean): all great.

Brushed/flossed as normal last night: fine.

Brushed as normal this morning and got blood (top and bottom).

What on earth can cause bleeding to come on so suddenly??

Are you otherwise fit and well? Is so, and you have no symptoms such as tiredness, weakness or breathlessness then it may just be too hard a brush, new toothbrush or gym disease starting/flare up. Keep an eye, but make sure you go to the doc for bloods if you've any of the above symptoms (not to alarm you, I'm a nurse and it could be something the doc needs to deal with)

could you be pregnant?

cls77 · 25/01/2014 16:44

*gum
Think I have gym disease lol

I could be pregnant - we're actually ttc#3 now but I never got this with #1 and #2 so assumed it was something else. Can it start this early?

I'm very healthy yes cls - I have been told that I sometimes brush too hard (electric toothbrush) which has previously caused some gum recession, but nothing like this before.

It's cold and miserable where I am, so definitely have don't have gym disease: just want to hibernate!! ;)

Lol, well it could be pregnancy then! Every one is different (as you'll know from 1 and 2!)
