inflammed thyroid

Hi all, my older sister (61) just had a radiography and she was told she has inflammed thyroid. She has been having back pain, problem sleeping and neck pain for a while. Am worried sick. Please advice, she will see gp tomorrow for specialist referral

Hi I don't think it's life threatening. I am off for scan on mine Monday ( I am 43 and very fit and healthy) but I noticed a clicking noise in my throat a few months back. I have had tests and I have an underactive thyroid. It's possible mine is inflamed and rubbing against something.

She should await results , it can be more sinister (cancer) but it's more likely not to be.

Caveat - I am not a doctor.
