Hi

I'll try to make this short but for the last couple of years I've been having daily diahorrea it used to be up to 5 times before I left the house in the morning but now it varies... I eventually persuaded my GP to do a referral the consultant at the hospital felt that because of my anxiety a colonoscopy would be too much & so I had a sigmoidoscopy that came back clear & she suggested IBS.. I don't have cramps or bloating or any of the symptoms that come with IBS so you would think that I feel reassured that there's nothing to worry about..
I still can't help thinking that there is something wrong I still have diahorrea every day some days loser than others it's never formed more ribboned..

This is a bit too much info I'm sorry but for the last week my bottom is uncomfortable inside through the day.. I have looked but theres nothing to see apart from if I push out it looks purple inside is this normal?Theres no itching. My Dr examined me before the referral & said there was no blockages or piles so what can this be?? Over the years my anxiety has produced pains & things that I hadn't noticed before & each time the Dr said I was fine so I know that anxiety can bring on lots of symptoms that seem to disappear once I've seen him but the diahorrea every day does worry me :(

Have you eliminated food allergies e.g gluten or dairy things you eat daily?

Yes Fluffy, I've cut right down on dairy & caffeine but it just seems that nothing helps atall.. I don't know whether to go back to my GP as my Simoidoscopy was clear a year ago... I thought that IBS was associated with bouts of constipation it's totally the opposite in my case :(

Carmen, you say you've cut down on caffeine and dairy, but you don't mention gluten. why don't you ask your doctor about testing you for coeliac disease?
