My 2 year old ds started getting spots on Thursday and has chicken pox. He has alot though quite pale. Im visiting my parenst on Monday and they live near the coast. Can anyone tell me when he can swim either in the sea or in a pool please?

I would have thought the sea would be good for them but i wouldnt take my child to a swimming pool.

Thanks jellybelly. Thought the salt in the sea would be quite soothing too.

Surely he'll probably still be contagious so best keep him apart from others. dd spent a lot of time in her paddling pool when she had them and it helped alleviate the itchiness and dry them up.

is that 5 days of being contagious ? Monday would be 5th day ..

Yes Monday will be his last contagious day and he is desperate to leave the house! We wont be going swimming straight away and will only be going to the beach if the weather is good enough. Wont be taking him to the pool then. Shame because he just loves swimming. Mum has a paddling pool too. Good thought LIZS Ill try that if we dont see any other water..other than the bath that is.
