Worried about my mum's colonoscopy

Long time lurker, desperate for info.
My mum is 71 and is having a colonoscopy tomorrow. Her symptoms are morning diarrhoea, appetite loss and therefore weight loss. No blood or anything like that. She is super healthy normally (climbs mountains!) and I am hoping that it is nothing. If anyone has any advice or info, I'd be insanely grateful.

Hi there, my mum was in this situation last year. All you can do is wait I'm afraid. It's a hard wait, believe me I know Sad I assume they are doing a biopsy too? I have no words of wisdom apart from it can be anything, until you are told otherwise. I won't say not to worry, because you will.

Thanks so much for your reply. She did ask the consultant whether he thought it was cancer. She says he looked at her hard for a moment and said 'no, I shouldn't think so' (!) He couldn't feel any masses and didn't order any blood tests. Think they will biopsy if they find anything...

I wish her and you the best of luck. And I really hope it is something of nothing Smile
