periods while breastfeeding and on mini-pill?

my baby is eight weeks tomorrow and is totallyu breastfed.
I was put on mini pill last week and I have woken up this morning to a period!
my lochia stopped at 4 weeks.
I thought it was nearly impossible to have a period while breasfeeding AND taking the mini pill?
is there something strange going on with my body? lol.

Welcome to my world. My periods came back at 4 weeks both times, even though both my DDs were EBF.

After the second one, my GP put me on the mini pill, saying I did not want to be bothered with periods while I was BF. Cue three months of constant bleeding before I ran out of patience and came off it.

if you don't mind me asking,what did you use instead of mini pill?
bit worried as had heard that it could be a sign of a decrease in milk supply even though my supply has been good so far and baby has gained loads of weight.
had also heard it could make it easier to become pregnant?

We used condoms until we had a ‘failure’. I then had a copper coil fitted and stuck with that.
