I can't handle the bleeding anymore

I have a cervical cyst. The doctor found it in September during an internal, and referred me to gynaecology. They haven't seen me yet.

It bleeds heavily. Sex aggravates it, so it bleeds either during or aftrr. Nights are bad, I have to sleep on a black towel.

I'm in the grips of a bipolar crash. Im struggling to look after myself. This is pushing me over the edge. A doctor chased my referral last week, nothing yet.

Would 111 be able to remove it tomorrow? I can't wait any longer. I'd like to cut it out myself.

I sympathise. I recently had a uterine polyp and bled almost everyday for 6 months. I think you ought to have been seen by now. I thought it was 6 weeks from date of referral for your appointment to come through and that should be within the get 6 weeks so a 3 month wait max. Do you have the option of going private?

I'm not sure I could afford it :(

All the leaflets say these can be removed easily. I just want it gone.

It's bled through three towels in the night. I feel grim. I spend my entire life worrying how bad the bleeding is at that precise moment, and how I can contain it.

And the pain is so bad, too.

That's how I was. Perhaps make a GP app for tomorrow and explain exactly how it's impacting your daily life and how it's affecting your mood etc and implore her to chase up your appointment?

Did you have a scan at the hospital for your initial diagnosis?

CajaDeLaMemoria · 19/01/2014 11:04

No, an internal exam at the doctors. It was bleeding heavily then too, but she could feel the cyst. She's referred me for both a scan and to see a gynea, but I haven't seen either yet.

I honestly feel like trying to reach up and snip it myself. It's been so long.

You need to contact your GP again. The Gynae people have to see you within 18 weeks, so by my reckoning that should be about now.

You poor thing, it sounds really grim. I hope you get your appointment through soon.
