Black toe nail

Glamorous aren't I?
Drooled something very heavy on my big toe about a month ago. My toe nail is partially black, not painful any more.
Will it ever return to normal?

My nail fell off and there was hard skin underneath.
Took ages to grow back. Looks normal now though.

How long? want to wear sandals this summer

It was black for 3/4 months-ish, that was fine, dark coloured nail polish and it looked fine.
When the nail fell off it took another few months before the nail grew to a decent length. (Mine fell off the night before my sisters wedding! Was in Debenhams at 8am trying to find a pair of closed toe shows)

If its only partially black it might just grow out rather than come off.
