Help bad taste I can't get rid of

I've had a really bad taste in my mouth since yesterday and it's driving me crazy
It's like a really bad burp but the taste doesn't go away,
Yesterday I ate Weetabix, a sandwich and salmon with herbs and veg
I have tried drinking loads of water, herbal tea, milk, brushed teeth countless times and flossed.
I've bought some calcium carbonate tablets to get rid of acid earlier but no luck yet.
Does anyone know what could be the problem or what I can do to get rid of it
I'm too scared to talk to anyone and I won't let Dh near me!

Were there any pine nuts in your meals yesterday? I once had "pine mouth" (its a thing, google it!) after eating a few pine nuts in a salad. It lasted weeks.

BanishedToPadua · 17/01/2014 19:31

I was going to say pine mouth too. I got it after having some mixed seeds from The Food Doctor. It did wear off after a few days, but everything tasted awful during that time.

You couldn't be pregnant, could you? I've sometimes been alerted to being pg with a terrible taste just before the relentless vomiting starts

Sunshineonsea · 17/01/2014 20:31

No pine nuts and was ttc but we have decided to wait so have been taking the pill for a month (I'm religious with it)
I'm feeling very sorry for myself Sad

Ah, that's not great! Although even taken properly the pill isn't 100% effective. Maybe poas just to be sure?

fortyplus · 17/01/2014 21:05

Perhaps you have a tooth abscess that's just starting to leak pus into your mouth? That can make a nasty metallic taste

MinnesotaNice · 17/01/2014 21:07

It isn't a metallic taste, is it? I had this with both pregnancies and apparently it is a common symptom.

MinnesotaNice · 17/01/2014 21:08

X-post. So if it is a metallic taste, you are either pregnant or have a tooth abscess. Gotta love Mumsnet diagnosis! Grin

popped in to say pine mouth but I can see others have suffered it too!

Sunshineonsea · 17/01/2014 22:57

Oh god I'm sure I'm not but I'll have to poas now to put my mind at ease
It's like a rotten metallic taste Confused
I don't think it's an abscess as I have had one before and when I rinsed with hot salty water it cleared it up a little (as in less pain) until I saw a dentist so I imagine the salt water would've had the Same effect on any pus

Boak at the thought of pus in my mouth
And thank you for the heads up on the pine nuts, I will steer clear!

I'd say either pregnant, or oral thrush.

Mumsnet diagnosis.Grin

LilBlondePessimist · 17/01/2014 23:59

Ooh, now you're saying metallic, I'd say defo poas! Good luck :)

Sunshineonsea · 18/01/2014 08:53

Well the good news is I've woken up and the burpy taste has gone (hurrah) there's a slight Metallicky taste and I mean v.slight (I may be even imagining it) but even if the taste goes I will have to poas because you've put it in my head now! Grin
