Hi all, I must go for an IgE blood test next week as I have bad allergies.I had this blood test before a few years ago but seeing that I take 2 antihistamines daily, does anyone know do I stop taking tablets before test ? would it affect reading? Many thanks in advance.I forgot to ask doctor :)

Yes I think you will need to stop them or the result won't be accurate. Ring the doctor and ask as I think a week may not be long enough.

Thanks so much for replying.Giving them up a week may set me back as my atopic eczema going okay at the moment, I think you are right : reading may not be accurate

Yes you do need to stop taking them. It's usually a week to make sure they've cleared your system so don't get a false result.
