I'm constantly ill since having baby!

I have a happy and lovely 7 month old, but since i started taking him to children centres/stay and plays/baby bounce etc, i have been constantly ill! Have had a non-stop series of colds, chest infections, coughs, fevers, and snotty sinuses for the past 4 months or so. DS, luckily, seems to have inherited his dad's iron constitution and hardly gets more than a little cough. I'm going back to work in a few weeks and am getting worried.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how i can get my immune system into gear? I eat well, take vitamins, and could probably do with more exercise. I suspect this will only get worse when DS starts at nursery full time and brings home everything going! Thanks everyone.

I'm exactly the same, OP. No advice but glad it's not just me. I blame lack of sleep, too.

The main thing here that I find stops me getting I'll is keeping my hands clean, everything u touch in them places are full of germs and dried snot, so I always keep my hands away from my face and use my hand sanitiser :)

Sorry to say the period of low immunity lasted over a year for me, with both DCs. It's exhaustion, new germs from being in playcentres etc and just generally being run down after birth, bf, all the joys of a newborn.

I also monitor the sickness at work and the mothers are sicker than anyone. Some of it is taking time off to look after sick kids but a lot of it is just them going down with stuff because they are stretched too far and are exhausted. I'm very sympathetic but obviously not all employers are.

I have no advice - it is really tough. I've been ok this year but DCs are 7 and 4 now Grin
