I have been unwell for many years. I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and ME. I also have depression. My hubby has had to start a new job and is now woking nights. I am struggling with the housework and feel I need him at home, yet want to do whats right for our 8 year old son. What do I do? Do I struggle on or allow my GP to do me a report so my hubby can stay at home and care for me?

Could you get DLA to help pay for a cleaner?

What hours is he out of the house? Can he help you during the time he's at home so that you only have to do the absolute minimum while he's at work?

There are lots of knowledgable people on the Spooning Thread on here. They can advise about getting help. They are also very kind.

New DLA claims are now called PIP, I've just finished completing mine.

Good luck and best wishes.
