Trapped sciatic nerve help?

Hi,

Yesterday I woke up unable to sit/stand/drive or pretty much do anything at all. I was in so much pain from my back to my foot.
I couldn't take dc's to school. I couldn't walk.
I suffered with spd throughout 2 pregnancies and I just had ds 2 weeks ago so I assumed it was hormonal pain from that and it would be away today.
I couldn't sleep last night and it was worse today, dh had to carry me down stairs! I'm 5ft10 so hardly an easy thing to do. Made an emergency appointment at docs he said it sounds like a trapped sciatic nerve and prescribed me solpadol and naproxen which haven't touched the pain at all. I feel like an old lady. I can't do anything :(. I have a physio appointment on the 23rd but until then what do I do? Will this ease up before then? Can I get stronger pain killers that will work?

This is easily the worse pain I've felt and I see no end to it :((

Oh dear,

Big sympathy. Don't have much time but come to the Back Story thread for a lot of support and hopefully helpful inf.

Could you afford to see a physio privately in the next couple of days?

Whilst waiting for physio, gp also gave me a brain blocker, which stops the pain reaching the brain( or so I understood) . Was fab. Only thing that worked.

What's a brain blocker? I'll probably call the gp tomorrow and ask if there is anything else. Going to find the back thread now thanks
