bleeding 9 days after hysterocopy

9 days ago I had a hysterocopy to remove fibroids and have a mirena coil fitted. The Dr said I would have light bleeding for about a week after which I have had - mostly only when I wiped and not usually enough to stain pad. I had no bleeding for the last couple of days and assumed it had stopped. However, this morning when I went to the loo there was quite a lot of pinky red mucousy blood. It's still there now but still only when I wipe. Do you think it's normal for the bleeding to stop then start again? Could it be the coil? I came off the pill the month before the op so guess my hormones could be a bit of a mess.

Any ideas?

If its not smelly, not painful and you feel well its probably nothing to worry about. My understanding was that you can bleed for up to a month afterwards, but I'm no specialist in this area so I'd give the DR a call and have a quick chat, just to rule out possible problems.

Thank you. Has completely stopped again now so hopefully that was just a final blast. I'll monitor for next couple of days & if it returns will call.

Arghhh after virtually disappearing for a couple of days its back pinky red! The coil leaflet says its common to spot for first couple of months so wonder if that. Fed up with bleeding, first the firbroids now the very thing that treated the fibr oids!
