periductal ectasia

Hello all, long time lurker here. I decided to register as I'm unsure what to do. I have recurring periductal ectasia (infections within the milk ducts of my breast).
I am scheduled a check up in a weeks time, however, I have had a major flare up over the last few days. I'm in a fair bit of pain and exhausted. I originally intended to wait for my breast clinic check up as on occasion I have fought of infection myself. However this time it's different. I have developed what I believe is an abcess in the area where the periductal ectasia is.
Last night I noticed the area looks bruised and is obviously swollen. This morning I managed to scratch the area slightly whilst dressing and it start bleeding ( a mixture of blood and pus).

I can't decide what to do for the best. Do I ring Nhs direct, out of hours doc or head to A&E? I was leaning towards out of hours doc but my own gp was unable to give me antibiotics last time for the periductal ectasia. So, what would you do? Thankyou in advance.

You need to get seen ASAP, I have periductal ectasia and last year it developed into an abscess that burst. I then needed 12 weeks of strong antibiotics

Head for A&E it needs dealing with today

A&E as it sounds really nasty and will need draining and you don't sound well

Thankyou for your replies! i took your advice and went to A&E. They were brilliant, I now have antibiotics and an urgent referal being sent to the breast clinic. They even called a surgeon down to see me as there was nobody in who specializes in that sort of thing. Thankyou again.
