I'm having it in 4 hours and am terrified.
I have to have an enema first. They don't offer sedation for it either.
Is it awful ??

I wish I'd never been to the gp with my original symptoms now. Oh god I'm such a baby.
Someone please reassure me Sad

I've had one.

Not exactly pleasant but fine really. I drove myself and my tummy was the flattest it had been for years!

I've had one of these. It was fine Smile
Will they offer you gas and air during the procedure?

wfrances · 09/01/2014 10:28

i didn't need to take the enema as my problem was constant bowel movements.
but it didn't hurt ,just uncomfortable- but my doctor didn't find anything wrong with my bowel .
my mum who has colitis finds them uncomfortable (scarring ect)and they give her pain relief.

Too late now, but I hope it went well.

I had one a few months back. I was very nervous before I went, but apart from a small amount of discomfort and wind it was fine.

Actually quite interesting watching the inside of my workings on the tv screen !

Hope it went well, I have acres of experience of bowel-related goings on so I know how scary it can be when you don't know what it's going to be like.

Hopefully it wasn't as bad as you thought, and it's good that you went to your GP, whatever it is has a chance of getting sorted.
