Physically ill from anxiety?

I have always had diarrhoea before something that makes me nervous, so for instance before a job interview etc. It was only ever in the morning before I left the house, but was gone as soon as I went out.

It's been getting worse, and now when I'm anxious I shake and shiver, and can't get warm. It makes me nauseous and I get diarrhoea. It's affecting my daily life and is happening more and more.

DH is working away this week, and I am feeling anxious to be on my own looking after DD (20 months). I can cope fine, I am coping fine, but my body thinks otherwise.

I was awake most of the night shivering, going to the loo, feeling sick.

How can I stop this from happening?

You need to see GP.

He would need to rule out any physical causes, then treat the anxiety.

If it is anxiety your body is telling you that you are not coping. If you keep pushing yourself you could end up with a breakdown.

Could you get a support network, could you get a friend or family member to stay with you a couple of nights? So you can build up confidence of being alone.

Please get help, I have been through all this, it builds and builds if you don't get help.

Best wishes.
