Not sure how to reduce the itchy part.

Antihistamines and steroid cream don't help, prednisole helps a bit but the itchiness is driving me nuts. Seeing dermatologist in a few weeks but any ideas to help with the itching. Ripping myself apart in my sleep :(

Sudocrem - had an allergic reaction to
E45 - ok for moisturising but doesn't remove the itch

I have had a similar condition in the past, and you have my sympathy as it's hideous. Have you tried an emollient cream? I was prescribed one called Cetreban ( I think) which helped more than steroid cream or e45.

When my mum had awful itching (lifelong severe eczema), the only thing that worked was 1% menthol in aqueous cream that the dermatologist recommended. She had it made up at the pharmacy, but looks like you can buy it online as Dermacool.

I have used Eurax lotion with success in the past- apparently rubbing in a cream causes heat which can make you feel more itchy. Eurax lotion is quite watery and helps me quite quickly, works loads better than prescribed stuff from doctors.

You have my sympathies, I was so bad at one point I couldn't put clothes on as the contact drove me mad!

Thanks for all your suggestions, will it eventually go or is it recurrent forever? :(

It's been on and off - mostly on - for 5 months.

I think the trigger was a mozzie bite in the Summer but who knows! Ever since that my skin just flares up like a beacon.

Will look into the items recommended thanks!
