Naproxen

My rheumatologist has started me on 1000mg of Naproxen for AS. I already take Omeprazole. I forgot to ask a) if I can have a drink (usually 2 large glasses of wine Fri and sat) and b) if I can take both meds together.

Anyone know the answers?

Yes to both. Certainly, I do both.

It's best to take the naproxen with something to eat too.

Yes to both.

Naproxen is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory so it is a good idea to take something like Omeprazole with it to protect your stomach as they can irritate it.

I have taken it in the past but had to stop because it did start upsetting my stomach. You should take it with or after food.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for the quick replies. My back is so sore after a week at work that I have a hard time sleeping. The wine helps!

And yes, I take it at meal times. He did tell me about that.

Yes. I take Omeprazole with my naproxen. And I enjoy a drink.

Hi can I take naproxen with just a yoghurt or do I need something heavier? Thanks

Make sure you get your kidney function checked yearly if you're going to be taking these in the longer term.

I always take it with omeprazole and some food as it irritates my stomach. I would have it with a full meal.
