ovarian cysts & periods

does anybody know if haveing multicystic ovaries can affect your menstrual cycle?

The conditions polycystic ovaries and polycystic ovarian syndrome produce multiple cystic follicles on the ovaries. The cystic follicles do disappear only to be replaced by further cystic follicles. Both of these conditions can and do affect periods, making cycle lengths erratic.

A woman is less likely to ovulate regularly if she has either PCO or PCOS. Both conditions are not absolute barriers to conception but it can make conceiving more difficult. Many women with PCO or PCOS require some sort of medical assistance in order to conceive.

thanks attila, I have just chatted to another mner on another thread who has said that she has had her periods delayed due to a cyst.
