I think I've got a water infection. Help!

So I think I've got a water infection but not 100% sure as I've never had one before.

My dd arrived 9 days ago and I had to have a catheter inserted for 24 hours so I'm guessing it stems from this. I'm finding it difficult to pee and it stings quite a lot. It's uncomfortable in that area (I thought it was my stitches causing me pain at first but now realise its around my pee hole area - yes, technical term!). It's getting quite painful now and I've just been to the loo and it took ages for anything to come out and when it did it stung like nobodies business.

Does this sound like a water infection? Obviously it's New Year's Day now so I can't go to the doctors until tomorrow so is there anything I can do in the meantime to help?

Poor you and congrats on the birth of DD. Can you call NHS direct for some advice? Hope you feel better soon.

Are you still in touch with your midwife? Can't remember how long you have aftercare for.

I've seen the midwives for dd recently but not sure if I'd have to see my GP for something like this? I'll try NHS direct this morning!
