Yes you can have a headache at any age.

sweetkitty · 22/07/2006 21:11

I had my first migraine aged 6, I threw up on the carpet at school, my Dad had to come and get me (big thing aged 6), I went to the doctors as I had double vision as well and they said it was a migraine.

Have had them regularly since then

Charlottesweb · 22/07/2006 21:13

My 4.5yr old gets them!

flutterbee · 22/07/2006 21:32

especially in this type of weather when they may be getting dehydrated.

I always got told bymy Mum "your too young to get headaches"

tinyFox · 22/07/2006 21:37

Yes my dd who is 7 complained of a headache.

biglips · 22/07/2006 21:39

i think she might be dehydrated as she had been practising her ballet all day with her mum at a ballet school so maybe she didnt have much to drink today

i've been getting migraines since i was a baby so definitely yes

bev1e · 22/07/2006 22:51

I was 7 when I had my first migraine and suffered them once a week until I was 30. Have only had 2 since then (thankfully) but definitely not out of the question for people of any age to suffer with headaches.

soapbox · 22/07/2006 22:55

Yes! Definitely. Have you checked whether they are dehydrated - think it is common in this heat to get a dehydration headache

edam · 22/07/2006 23:13

Of course, pain receptors don't suddenly appear at puberty or something!

I had migraines from about age 7.

Nightynight · 22/07/2006 23:25

yes, young children can have them. My mother's helpful contribution: "I didnt know what a headache WAS when I was your age!"
then she used to break anadins in half and give them to us.

I remember coming home from infant school with crushing headaches. I think even small babies probably get headaches.

I often wonder if animals get headaches.... I bet they do.

littleducks · 22/07/2006 23:47

i used to suffer from childhood migraines and found they often occured before thunderstorms when the weather is humid and sticky (which it is here now dunno bout where u r) but i agree dehydration could cause or exasperate the situation.
