I put up with this for months and tried everything available at home to solve it to no avail. Eventually went to the doctor and he sort of jet washed my ear and a pea sized hard ball of wax came out. Job done.

I wish I'd done it months ago.

Thanks. Will go on Monday.
It's really irritating!

Badvoc

Keep on with the warm olive oil. If it's really impacted, it won't shift it (neither will Otex) but it will soften it making the syringing easier.

Make sure that the receptionist/nurse knows you've been softening with oil. At my place they refuse to syringe unless you've been doing that for at least 10 days - so tell them you have been.

When I had this it turned out to be an inner ear infection. I had mild case one year and the next year it returned but a much worse infection ended up with a perforated ear drum. So look out for that.

I am also prone to ear wax blockage too and have had them washed a few times. If it is just this it feels nice afterwards you can hear super well.
