Small lump on egde of DD's nipple

DD2 (7 mo) has got a small lump which is definitely under the skin on her left nipple. It is quite hard and and I can only decribe it a a little nodule. It moves a bit. It doesn't seem to cause her any pain.

Anyone git any ideas what it is? Should I be worried?

It might be the very very start of puberty. I got something like this when I was 9.

If it's hormonal wouldn't it be on both sides?

It seemed a little inflamed this week but I think that was somethhing unrelated.

no .. can be under one, both or neither

if you're worried check with GP but DD had the same .. normal ..

Even if it's hormonal it may not be on both sides. I have a gland that sticks up a bit under and to one side of one nipple. When my mum noticed it it worried her and she took me to her gyne, who reassured her that it was perfectly normal, would change in size with my hormones, but did not even need to be watched. It's never given me any problems.

The lump may have seemed inflamed because of being touched a little too much.

No harm reassuring yourself by taking her to the GP.

Ok cool - will keep an eye on it and see how she goes.

Thanks everyone.
