Atypical mole growing back. Referred to Oncology dept?

I had a large mole, which turned out to have some atypical cells, removed almost a year ago during an unrelated op. I was supposed to be referred to a dermatologist, but this was delayed (I chased it up when I noticed some pigmentation), and have now received an appointment at the oncology department.

Does anybody have any experience of the above? I'm a little worried about the dept I've been referred to, even though the GP doesn't seem to think it's urgent and the appointment is in 5 months time. Also wonder if it's a worrying sign the mole may be growing back.

I think all dodgy moles may go to an oncology derm clinic - when my dad had a black bit under a toe nail thats where he got sent. And even then, they didn't think it was serious, but still had him back a few months later to check it - and he was seeing a dermatologist for something else at the same time but it still had to be the oncology clinic for his toe
If they were really worried, you'd be in there in 2 weeks.
