Weird sore/clickey shoulder blade

A couple of months ago I was doing manual work at my job, and the next morning I woke up with a funny pain in my shoulder blade, like I'd slept funny.

I went to stretch my back out and ended up in real, sickening pain stretching past my shoulder blade and into my neck. It was so bad that I was prescribed diazepam and signed off for 2 weeks.

Now, I still get pain and it's kind of in my top left back, sort of behind my shoulder blade. If I rotate my shoulders in a shrugging, round and round motion, it clicks like mad!

It isn't hugely painful, any soreness is alleviated by massage or a warm bath. I'd be grateful for anyone who can give me any insight into what I've done here! ThanksThanksThanks

Not sure what you've done, but have you seen anyone other than the GP, e.g. Chiropractor, oesteopath etc???

No I haven't, i kind of feel guilty for taking up their time because there are so many other people in serious pain you know?

I think you probably pulled or tore either a muscle or ligament in the shoulder joint. It has now healed up but there is a leftover weakness in the joint. It would probably be good to see someone about this and get some exercises as your shoulder is now weaker than it used to be, so it could more easily be hurt in future. I have found it is not super easy to see an NHS physio but if you can afford a few private sessions this would be easier, if you need NHS you have to be referred by your GP.
