chickenpox - how do I tell? Flying in the morning.

dd has had a couple of spots on her tummy for 2 or 3 days. Last night a group of them appeared on her shoulder. They don't itch, I think it's a heat rash. They aren't blisters but little spots.

She has no temp and is otherwise fine

could it be the pox?

For two or three days? I'd have thought they'd have turned into the pox by now if it was, tbh. Has she been in contact with the pox at all?

Kelly1978 · 19/07/2006 19:30

I wouldnt have thought so if they werent blisters. When dd and ds1 got them, they were def blisters from the outset. Fingers crossed for you!

(and given the weather, I'd be more inclined to think "heat rash" too, unless known contact with chickenpox a couple of weeks ago)

ds1 got spots first which turned into blisters - but they were clearly pox blisters within 24hrs.

I would think it unlikely since she's had a couple for 2-3 days. With DSs it went from a couple to covered in 24 hours.

Yes -- they tend to only be non-blistery for a very short time. If she's had them for two or three days I very much doubt it's the pox.
