Heartburn

Hello,

DD (dc2) is 10 weeks old and I'm suffering badly with heartburn. I never get heartburn unless I'm pregnant, but this time it just hasn't gone away after birth (elcs)
I'm still on Labetalol (I had preeclampsia) 100mg twice a day - could that cause it?

Nope very much doubt it .

Are you taking anything for it .

A month of omeprazole would prob do the trick

Suggest see your gp

Thanks for replying. I have omeprazole from during pregnancy and I've taken some tonight, and some Gaviscon to tide me over until it kicks in. I've just been ignoring it and hoping it would stop, but last night was awful so I've taken action. Should I waste a GP's time with it?

Erm ........I would take the omeprazole for a week see if it settles . If not then gp .

Anything else contributing , smoking , caffeine etc

I'm breastfeeding so not going overboard on caffeine, but I am not avoiding it. If I can find the time i might do a food diary type affair.

Heartburn ....it's dreadful

try sleeping propped up . Something wedged under the mattress works best

Look up GORD on a website such a patient.co.uk
