Diagnosis anyone? Gynae issues

I've had trouble trying to get a doctor's appointment but wondered if anyone had any ideas before I try to get through on the phone again tomorrow?

I had cystitis a few weeks ago, was given trimethoprim and the worst of the systems disappeared quite quickly. But, since then I've been feeling generally sore and I can't tell if it's urethra or vagina related.

I need to pee a lot, feel bloated and achey, and my back is hurting round my kidneys (that bit could be coincidence though). I don't have a temperature and I don't feel unwell. Oh and I've noticed that my fanjo has been quite unpleasantly whiffy, especially after sex - fishy/bleachy smell rather than yeasty. No itching or white discharge though, but I do feel a bit 'leaky' - again, not sure if this is needing to pee or vaginal discharge.

Oh, and I also had a copper coil fitted about 2 months ago - not sure if that's related.

Anyone?

Bacterial vaginosis?

Mirandafart · 11/12/2013 16:46

It sounds like bacterial vaginitis, a course of antibiotics will clear it. Ask your gp to take some swabs to confirm. :-)

Thank you ladies. Do you know if the coil is to blame?

I got some form of fishy smelling infection after having a coil fitted so possibly.

you need to go back to the dr- sounds as if your initial infection needs another dose of maybe different antibiotics. If your kidneys are hurting that can be a sign of infection.

any infection in the vagina can spread to your bladder giving you an infection there- or a bladder infection can also infect your vagina- hard to always know which comes first. But go back to drs.
