Thorns in feet and red eyes

Hi All, DD got about 6 thorns stuck in her feet on Sun and 2 remain in. She woke up this morning with red eyes in patches. Could this be linked? Taking her up to hospital a bit later probably

could the red eyes be something to do with the heat/hayfever?

Do you knwo what the thorns are? My mum gets arthritis-type reactions to rose thorns (which is a pain because she's (a) a keen gardner and (b) already got arthritis).
