Optician advice

DD has worn glasses/contacts for a number of years - she's 20 - and her eyes seem to plateau for a while and then get worse, at which point she gets migraines until they're sorted.

She's getting migraines again! Sad

She has previously been to Vision Express and Specsavers, and tbh honest, we've had bad experiences with both.

So my question is - has she been unlucky, and should we try another branch of one of the chains OR should we go to an independent optician?

Thank you for any advice.

I liked our independent, but it's been taken over by Boots.

And I have to say the two Opticians DD2 and I have got there have been brilliant.

They do far more health checks on oldies like me and they spent ages with DD2.

The astigmatism correction on mine is really good (this always seems fiddly)
and DD2 stopped forgetting to wear hers so they were clearly right.

Our boots opticians is a small, not too busy, one. A huge city one might be very different. All you can do is ask about for recommendations, off friends and try them.
