Wart?

You all have such good suggestions so Im hopeful!
About 5 months ago my index fingernail started to grow a deep groove up from the nailbed just above where I had a small clear blister with black dot centre on my finger. Assumed it was some kind of wart so started treating it with bazooka. Cant seem to get rid of it completely though, the blister has gone and the nail is starting to grow normally but the site of the original blister/ wart is still painful although very small. Too small to bother a doctor with . Everytime I start using the bazuka again it swells up and becomes sore. So I leave it alone and then the wart or whatever it is seems to come back.
Asked the pharmacist, said use bazuka.
Any ideas?

See your doctor. Is the nail deformed? It could be nothing but I think it really needs to be looked at.You will not be wasting their time, , it hasn't cleared up,so just get it checked out please?

Thanks for your reply. Yes the nail grew up deeply ridged but has now starting growing normally. Will make an appointment though.
