DD born in Dec 05. BF for four months. My last three periods have not been too heavy but they are extremly painful. Pains in tummy, lower back and even my backside. I've sat down a few times and had to jump up again because of shooting pains. I'm popping pain killers but they are only numbing the pain slightly. Never had problems before. DD born by c section, could this be why? Also find that on my ovulation days I feel like I have my period. Is it my body just going back to normal or should I be worried about it?

Would suggest you seek medical advice from a gynae re this problem. Your GP should refer you to such a person - do not take no for an answer.

Endometriosis may be an issue here (this can certainly cause very painful periods) and adhesions resulting from the c-section (any abdominal surgery can cause adhesions to form so they are unavoidable) can tether organs together causing pain. Pain mid cycle can also be indicative of endometriosis.

Whilst you should not be unduly worried it is in your interests to seek answers as to why this is happening.

Thanks for that. Was thinking that it was a settling back thing but it really is painful. I'm having a smear in a few weeks so I shall talk to the doctor then.
