Dh's right ring finger

bent and stuck to palm every morning. He has to bend it back into place. It's been like this for a week.

He currently has back pain curving round his right shoulder blade, restricting neck and head movements.

I think it's all stress related but he's particularly perturbed by the bent finger each morning.

What does it mean?

Trigger finger-due to tightening in the tendon sheath. An injection will sort it.

Would stress really do that? It seems unlikely. He needs to see his GP.

Stress can cause the neck and back pain. Trigger finger is probably unrelated. Can try massaging in anti inflammatory gel which can help but if doesn't settle injections work wonders!

Definitely trigger finger and worry about that may be causing the shoulder pain?

If trigger finger is severe, a minor op is the answer- day case.

www.patient.co.uk/health/dupuytrens-contracture-leaflet

Is it like this?

See GP for advice. Very common. Get physio referral for back and neck pain.

Dupuytrens is fixed and can't be bent back- it is trigger finger from description.
