Have you been prescribed this for ibs and did it help? I have just been given it after having really bad spasms in my stomach on and off for 3 weeks or so.

Usually I can control my ibs by diet but I have had a rough month. Am always very wary of new medication though as some idiot dr once gave me something than made it a million times worse! Hopefully this will be ok but would like to hear some feedback first :)

I've taken buscopan several times, not for IBS but for kidney stones - it was prescribed to me whilst I was waiting for treatment to remove the stones.

I don't suffer from IBS, but the reasons for me needing it were basically the same - it helps to control the spasms, which is sometimes the reason that you cannot get pain under control even though you have taken high doses of painkillers.

I have also had it in high IV doses in A&E when suffering a painful stone episode (alongside other pain relief) and it was wonderful stuff.

Ouch, didn't realise kidney stones give you spasms! Hopefully it will work then, I was just concerned about it as it says on the leaflet not to take if you're constipated, but with ibs you never know what its going to be, I can have loose poo for two days (sorry tmi) then suddenly be constipated just because I ate a bit too much bread!
