I have always understood that you get chilblains when your hands/feet are cold and then heat up quickly.

dd gets them, because she won't wear slippers, so her feet get very cold and then she gets into a warm bath. When she wears her slippers and dressing gown, then they improve.

I would wonder if, despite your efforts to keep warm, are your hands/feet cold to the touch? Which suggests you are still chilly.

Straight into a hot bath, or hands on a radiator or wrapped round a hot mug will do it too.

I get chilblains but my circulation is crap. The main cause though is going from cold to hot too quickly. I have to be careful not to get into the bath/shower with cold feet, have the car blower too hot on my feet, no hot water bottles on my feet etc. It causes the blood vessels to expand too quickly and I think they burst which is what makes the chilblains. My ultimate sin as teenager was warming my feet on the radiator after school.

I'll watch out

Thanks

I got them when i was wearing shoes that werent keeping my feet warm enough.
Then coming in and warming them on the radiator.

I used the tip of walking through the snow and i have never had them since.

My reflexologist says they don't 'look' like chilblains & they aren't where she would expect them

So I have irrationally itchy toes!
