Really sore throat help!

I have the worst sore throat I have ever had. Bad enough in the day but i can't sleep at all as if I do and swallow in my sleep its like a mouth full of razor blades and it feels like my throat is closing up and I panic. Any tips on easing the pain. Tried painkillers, strepsills and saltwater but not really touching it.

I'd go to GP if it's that bad. Good luck getting an appointment x

It sounds a bit like tonsillitis, which means you need antibiotics from the doctor.

I have it too, never known anything like it! I am taking nurofen every 4 hours and it's barely touching it. I am dreading tonight. I can't speak either.

One thing that vaguely helps is keeping my throat warm with a scarf, even in bed!

Ladydepp that sounds just like it. I hope you had a better night than I did last night. I Managed to get an appointment with my GP and have been given penicillin but am struggling to swallow the tablets! Hope you get well soon. Am going with scarf, ice cream and spitting into a cup today.
