this is my second thread about being ill today, but i've had the being sick feeling sick feeling sick feeling still sick, bug for 5 days.

This morning i was on here saying i felt so dizzy and this afternoon it's all about the headache which i think is sinus related to do with erm i virus. I haven't got a runny nose or anything.

The pain is bloody horrible, under my eyes and my top teeth and worst at the sides of my head. I have never had a headache like this. Only have paracetamol and ibuprofen in the house. If i go to tesco is there something better.

i can prob drive if there is tia xxx

Warm flannels or warm pack is recommended as it helps to liquify the secretions that are blocking your tubes. Have you got any decongestant, that can also help relieve the pain. Sinusitis is miserable Sad

hi, i have taken supermarket own cold tablets which has phenylephrine in. Is there a better decongestant i can get from tesco.

thankyou.

Sudafed for sinusitis is good stuff if there is a pharmacy.

Or Olbas oil, used as an inhalant. It will stink the house out but works a treat.

I feel for you, it is a horrible pain - but the green gunk that you blow out your nose when it starts to move is excellent Wink

When I say Olbas oil as an inhalant I mean in a bowl of hot water, towel over your head while you inhale the vapour. (I was having horrible visions of someone sticking the oil directly into the nose!)

I know that's obvious, but I'm a worrier!

thankyou, no there isnt a pharmacy now within 20 miles ( Devon) so will hope sudafed is on the shelf. x off to raid.

Menthol crystals. Have a hot steamy bath or shower too

PennySillin · 26/11/2013 17:53

That's the drug you want. You could try getting a nasal spray decongestant over the counter (they usually contain Xylometazoline) but I think for the sinuses the oral tablets are better as the sprays can't quite penetrate as far back as the sinuses.

hello i'm back, i have found an olbas oil inhaler. sudefed has the same ingredients as the own brand cold things i have phenylephrine.

Also have some migraine tablets, will have to do for tonight. x
